Sudanese cartoonist and artist Osman Ali Obaid Alamin has been selected to participate in the 2026 Tlatelolco International Cartoon Biennial in Mexico.

Obaid’s work, “Demagoguery and Democratic Values,” is among 95 works by 81 artists selected for the international exhibition.

The exhibition will be held at the Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco in Mexico City from 24 October 2026 to 30 January 2027.

The selected work explores the relationship between demagoguery and democratic values, reflecting Obaid’s continuing artistic engagement with democracy, freedom of expression, and political and social issues through editorial cartooning.

The winners of the Biennial’s awards are scheduled to be announced during the exhibition’s opening on 24 October 2026.
